25 members took part in the annual meeting
Some organisations, and individuals, never manage to combine business with pleasure. However, Algarve members of the St Patrick’s Society ensure that they can do exactly that.
The Society’s 2023 edition of its AGM recently took place in the delightful setting of Restaurante O Cantinho in Carvoeiro, where the business part of the evening was followed by great food, refreshments, and general merriment. The 25 members present participated in the annual meeting, convened by Chairperson Damian Clarke.
As well as reflecting on a very successful year, including several organised walks and various social events such as the annual dinner dance attended by the Irish Ambassador to Portugal, the potential for organising future activities was also discussed. Similarly, the Society’s committee members were voted in, and volunteers for the organisation of a range of events were also confirmed.
After the conclusion of ‘business’, restaurant owner Sr José and his highly professional, friendly team served up a sumptuous selection of delicious food. Accompanied by a range of refreshments, including quality Portuguese wine, the evening was eventually concluded in an atmosphere of typical camaraderie, good spirits, and with real optimism for the prospect of looking forward to yet another great year for the Algarve St Patrick’s Society.
