The 12th edition of Algarve Spa Week will take place between October 22 and 30, offering 50% discounts at some of the region’s best spas.
The event, which was created in 2010 in a bid to promote the Algarve as a top wellness tourism destination, is taking place under the motto ‘Digital Detox: Connecting Yourself to Wellness’.
For nine days, a selection of treatments will be available for half price at nine spas based at five-star hotels across the Algarve.
This year’s edition will also feature a signature treatment based on the event’s theme – a 65-minute full-body massage, which provides a “feeling of deep relief, helping eliminate muscle tension and improve circulation whilst also purifying and regenerating the body”.
Participating spas are 7Seven Spa (Hilton Vilamoura), Alma Spa (Monte Santo Resort), Cascade Spa (Cascade Wellness Resort), Felicitás Spa Atlântico (NAU São Rafael Atlântico), Felicitás Spa Palace (NAU Salgados Palace), Osmos Wellness Center (Vidamar Resort Algarve), Real Spa Therapy (Real Marina Hotel & Spa), Real Spa Therapy (Real Santa Eulália Resort & Spa) and Reflections Spa (Wyndham Grand Algarve).
Treatments can be booked directly by contacting the spas, online at www.algarve-spa-week.com or on the event’s Facebook page.
In a bid to get the local community involved, organisers have also scheduled two days of activities prior to the event, the first having already taken place on October 9 at Passeio das Dunas between Vilamoura and Quarteira.
The next is scheduled for Alvor’s riverside area on Sunday, October 16, and will allow visitors to try (for free) several of the massages that will be available during the event, starting at 10.15am and running until 12.15pm.
There will also be several Wellness and Fitness activities including BodyBalance (10.30am) and Sh’Bam (10.45am). Cost is €3 per activity, with all proceeds going to cancer care associations Partilhas & Cuidados and Oncovida. Participants in these activities will also be enrolled in a prize draw for a chance to win a two-person tour of the nine spas.
