Algarve Senior Bikers return to the roads

After a year of forced inactivity due to the pandemic, the Algarve Senior Bikers (ASB) finally managed a group ride again.

Twenty-five members were pleased to get out on their bikes again and meet up with fellow members after so long.

The ride was organised and led by David Shirley, founder of ASB, and Peter Kenyon.

It was only a short ride through hills and valleys around Alte and Salir due to the excessive heat of the day. Several stops for refreshments and photos were made en route before arriving in Alte for lunch on the shaded terrace at Restaurant O Folclore with its views of the surrounding countryside.

“It’s great to be back and be able to meet some of the new members who joined during lockdown. Looking forward, all being well, to the next Rideout,” said David Shirley. “The ride took place on the 11th anniversary of me starting the group and we will celebrate later in the year when we are able to do so with less restrictions.”

If you are interested in the ASB and would like more information, visit www.algarveseniorbikers.com – it is free to join and you can meet and enjoy riding with some fellow bikers of all nationalities from all across the Algarve.
