The first ride of 2023 for the Algarve Senior Bikers was well attended with over 40 riders taking part, including several new members.
Although it was a somewhat chilly start in Boliqueime, by the time of the coffee break at D. Rosa’s Café in the pretty village of Querença, the sun had worked its magic and the temperature had risen to a more pleasant 15ºC.
It was a beautiful clear day and the views from the hills north of Salir were spectacular.
After coffee, the two groups of riders headed west via Benafim and São Bartolomeu de Messines to enjoy a traditional Portuguese lunch provided by Maria and the staff at restaurant Casa da Vinha in Vale Fuzeiros.
Lead riders on this occasion were Alain Balouzet and David Shirley.
