The first ride of 2020 for the motorcyclists of the Algarve Senior Bikers (ASB) took place on Tuesday, January 28 from Paderne.
The two groups where led on this occasion by Steve Wills and David Shirley, taking a route through the hills around Alte, through Santa Margarida to Messines before heading north on the IC1 to São Marcos da Serra.
The groups took a break just outside the village for a coffee before riding the curves all the way to Monchique, then back over the hills on some challenging roads offering some super views to the coast and down past the Odelouca dam to Silves.
The day usually finishes with a group lunch, but, on this occasion, riders made their own arrangements as a suitable restaurant could not be located due to many being closed for the annual holidays.
The weather was a bit grey and chilly at times but did not spoil a good day out.
The next event will be a ride on Wednesday, February 26 from São Marcos da Serra ending in Vila Nova de Milfontes, organised by Philippe Payen, Eric Desurvire, Andrew Chilton, Erwin Oortman.
Further details will be on the ASB website – www.algarveseniorbikers.com
