Algarve returns to BTL tourism fair

Nature, sports, culture, gastronomy and wine are among the many tourist attractions that the Algarve is promoting at Lisbon’s BTL tourism fair being held until Sunday, March 17 at the FIL fairground.

Before the event opens to the public on Friday, March 15, the Algarve tourism board (RTA) will be presenting several regional projects to public and private representatives of the tourism sector, including the Algarve’s new Observatory for Sustainable Tourism, the Algarve Nature Fest and the 365 Algarve cultural agenda.

“The Algarve’s participation in BTL is always an important moment to reaffirm itself as the country’s main tourist destination,” said Algarve tourism chief João Fernandes.

As he explained, “it allows us to communicate directly with professionals and the general public and show the result of our work in partnership with entities and agents of the sector”.

Described as the country’s biggest tourism fair, BTL brings together all of Portugal’s tourism regions in a bid to promote the best that Portugal has to offer.
