Dave Leeke and then business partner Steve Reid (founders of Nexus) were responsible for the first online version of the Algarve Resident among other portals in the region.

Every article, in every printed edition of the newspaper, is uploaded to the website ready for viewers to read on a Friday. That means there are over 660 editions of the weekly newspaper, with all of its news and feature content, searchable and online thus making www.algarveresident.com one of the Algarve’s biggest web resources.
Since the acquisition of the Algarve Resident in April this year by international publishing house Open Media S.A., developments to improve the already well-respected newspaper portal have been underway.
