The Algarve Resident’s first open day, held at the Enova Group showroom in Lagos on June 13, was hailed as a great success.
The event was attended by many new and old friends of the Algarve Resident, as well as readers of the group’s newly acquired magazines from Vista Ibérica Publicações Lda, including the Algarve Good Life and Algarve Golf Guide among others.
Sheena Rawcliffe, Managing Director of the Algarve Resident, said: “We were very pleased with this first Open Day for some years. We are planning to repeat this opportunity further across the Algarve, as well as working with Enova later in the year.”
Visitors were also offered a variety of top products and services by a hand-picked selection of companies offering special deals on the day.
The Enova Group themselves showed off their comprehensive range of products, from computer technology to renewable energy sources and home security and entertainment, among others.
Also, British Resident Ken Oldfield was the lucky winner of a brand new top of the range laptop donated by the Enova Group.
Two members of LuzDoc’s international medical service, Nikki Medlock and Fernanda Correia, were on hand to provide free cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure checks as well as advice about their services.
Visitors were also treated to samples of smoked meats, fish, cheese and other delights from Fumeiro do Algarve.
Outside the Enova showroom, VIP Motorbikes and VIP Chauffeurs displayed part of their luxury range of motorbikes for sale and one of their S Class Mercedes available for chauffeur services.
Furniture specialists Moveison also displayed their wide range of outdoor furniture as well as demonstrating their barbecues by cooking a charity lunch with fresh food kindly donated by Baptista supermarkets, which along with donations for LuzDoc tests raised a total of 400 euros.
Maria Eduarda Santos, President of NECI, said: “We are very grateful for the Algarve Resident’s initiative and will be using the funds raised for our residential home project.”
