Algarve racing team signs up for European Le Mans Series

Algarve Pro Racing, the Algarve-based sports car team, has announced that it will once again be taking part in the 2015 European Le Mans Series with its Nissan powered Ligier JS P2.

The team will be led by former Jordan F1 man Stewart Cox and has already filled an entry for what will be the 83rd running of the world’s largest motor race, the 24 Heurs Du Mans, taking place in June.

Cox has commented that “after five days of testing”, the Ligier JS P2 has shown “great pace, 100% reliability and sensitivity to adjustments”.

Team regular Michael Munemann, who has completed over 1200 kilometers in the car, agreed, saying: “I am extremely pleased with the way the team has gotten to grips with the car and enjoyed learning the dynamics of the Ligier JS P2.”

The team hopes to have its driver line-up confirmed by the end of the month. In the meantime, it says it would welcome inquiries from drivers “who wish to stand out in 2015”. Anyone interested should contact [email protected]
