Algarve promoted at BTL

THE ALGARVE Tourism Board will be present at Bolsa de Turismo de Lisboa (BTL), the country’s largest international tourism fair, running from this week at FIL, Parque das Nações, in Lisbon, until January 28.

The Board’s stand in Pavillion One has a backdrop decoration inspired by the region’s main tourism products. A new guide to the Algarve’s beaches has been produced for distribution and there will be various other leaflets and promotional gifts made available to visitors.

More than 50,000 visitors attend this annual event, now in its 18th year, providing tourism boards and private businesses with a place to engage new potential contacts, maintain existing business relations and become acquainted with the latest news and market trends. Last year there was a total of 524 national exhibitors and 465 from overseas.

The exhibition is open to the general public who, as well as being able to visit the myriad of stands and find out more about a range of destinations worldwide, can take part in workshops, benefit from special offers on holiday packages, enter competitions and enjoy a programme of entertainment.

For the first time ever the Maldives, Serbia, Reunion Island and Namibia will be taking stands at the event and, after a long absence, Argentina, the Seychelles, Israel and Indonesia will be represented once more at BTL.

BTL is open to the public and trade professionals on January 26 and 27, from 1pm to 11pm and on January 28 from 1pm to 8pm. Catering facilities are open daily for the duration of the fair.

Entrance costs four euros for adults and 2.50 euros for OAPs and children under 12. Family tickets are available for 12 euros and trade passes are priced at 10 euros.
