GNR police in the Algarve arrested on Monday a 62-year-old man wanted for murder by international criminal police organisation Interpol.
The arrest was at the Portuguese-Spanish border in Castro Marim during a joint mobile control patrol.
Said GNR police in a statement, the officers came across a vehicle whose “occupant was behaving suspiciously”.
A background check confirmed the man had an outstanding international arrest warrant on the suspicion of a crime of murder.
The man was named an official suspect (arguido) and the case was handed over to Évora Court.
