APG was formed in 2007 and has a membership of just under 60
The Algarve Photographers Group (APG) is a multi-national group of like-minded people with a passion for photography. They meet in Museu do Traje in São Brás de Alportel where they hold exhibitions and workshops.
Members range from active professionals, keen hobbyists and casual snappers, with the more experienced of the group “always willing to share their expertise with the rest”.
The APG was formed in 2007 and held its first exhibition in December 2010. Since then, it has held well over 80 exhibitions and currently has a membership of just under 60.
Print exhibitions are held on odd months, are open to the public with free admission, and are on display until the next exhibition is held. On even months, APG holds online challenges which, along with exhibition images, are also available to view on their website.
The 2023 programme kicked off on January 27 with images on display taken just by using a Mobile/Smartphone. Over 60 members and guests attended the opening night, and all voted for their favourite three images.
The First Certificate winner of 2023 was Ludmila Stiebner with her entry “Blue Bench”.
The Mobile/Smartphone Exhibition is on display until March 23 when the next theme, “Architectural Details”, will take place.
