Algarve Orchestra kicks off Portuguese Revolution anniversary celebrations in Faro

The start of the official 50th anniversary celebrations of the 25th of April will be marked on December 1 with a concert at the Algarve Regional Conservatory in Faro.

The official celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April start in Faro on December 1 at 19h00, with a concert by the Orquestra do Algarve at the Maria Campina Algarve Regional Conservatory.

Maestro Martim Sousa Tavares will direct the concert, featuring the special participation of Sérgio Carolino, a Portuguese tuba player of international prominence.

Carolino has participated in “various innovative musical projects with his instrument”, including jazz, improvised music and classic repertoire.

The lineup for this unprecedented concert will feature works by Tatiana Stankovych, Daniel Shvetz, Étienne Crausaz and Franz Schumbert.
