Accommodation units in the Algarve recorded a rise of 3.2 percentage points in room occupancy compared to the same month of the previous year.
According to AHETA (the Algarve Hotels and Tourist Enterprises Association) data, the room occupancy rate was 77.8%, 3.2pp (percentage points) higher than in 2022 and 1.0pp below that seen in June 2019.
The markets that most contributed to the year-on-year rise were the British with +2.0pp, the German with +1.0pp and the Irish with +0.8pp.
By geographical area, the most significant increases compared to the previous year occurred in the regions of Carvoeiro / Armação de Pêra (+4.6pp), Albufeira (+4.4pp), and Portimão / Praia da Rocha (+3.9pp).
