This year’s edition of the Algarve Nature Fest will be open exclusively to health professionals as a ‘thank you’ for being at the frontline of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic since early March.
The event will take place between Saturday, October 17 and 31 and feature 21 outdoor experiences which health professionals can enjoy for free.
As organisers explain, the goal is to give them an opportunity to “relax and enjoy the best thing that the region has to offer: nature”.
From mountain bike rides to themed walks, zip-lining over the Guadiana River, Ria Formosa boat trips, dolphin watching, grotto exploring, stand-up paddleboarding and surfing lessons, there will be something for everyone.
“We are symbolically paying tribute to those at the frontline of the fight against the pandemic who have done so much for our community,” says Algarve tourism boss João Fernandes.
The event is organised by the Algarve Tourism Board (RTA) with the support of the Algarve Regional Health Administration and Turismo de Portugal.
