While Christmas is still a long way off for many, Rolf Osang is asking residents to start thinking about the festive season and book their place at the first Algarve Natal Christmas fair.
Between December 3 and 5 the Centro Congressos do Arade in Parchal will play host to a Christmas fair which organisers hope will not only be the perfect place to pick up a unique gift, but will also be an opportunity for local residents to sell their own Christmas creations.
Organiser Rolf Osang told the Algarve Resident: “We want Algarve Natal to be a real Christmas fair like those that take place in Germany, Austria and the UK, a place where visitors can come and buy high quality art, handicrafts and homemade produce.
“Everything at the fair will be handmade with industrial fabrication strictly forbidden and we will be very strict about this to keep the standards of the fair,” he said.
While established artists are being invited to attend the fair, local residents of all nationalities are being asked to take part in their own ways, making cakes or traditional Christmas items which can then be sold on individual stalls.
“We are looking for people who would like to sell their own products at the fair. In Germany we have many types of traditional Christmas confectionary and I know that in other countries there are other traditions which people would love to be able to buy,” said Rolf Osang.
The Algarve Resident is proud to be the English-language media partner of this event, which it is hoped will become a firm favourite on the Algarve events calendar.
The cost of holding a stall at the fair has been subsidised by sponsors and is priced at 199 Euros for all three days.
