For the fourth time in five years, the Algarve has been named a “trustworthy brand” (Marca de Confiança) by the readers of Seleções, the Portuguese version of Reader’s Digest.
The region’s “quality, value for money and customer service” were the main factors highlighted by readers.
“It is with great pride that we receive this distinction, especially as it shows the opinion of the Portuguese,” said Algarve tourism boss João Fernandes.
“Confidence is something you gain after decades of work and this recognition is especially relevant in a year in which the RTA (regional tourism board) is celebrating its 50th year and is facing an unprecedented challenge,” he added.
The Algarve has been named a ‘Marca de Confiança’ in 2016 – the first year in which ‘Tourism Regions’ were included as a category in the voting – 2017, 2019 and now 2020.
