The Algarve has once again been chosen to host the final of the European Rally Trophy, which will take place alongside the Rallye Casinos do Algarve, the last stage of the country’s own Portuguese Rally Championship.
The races will be held from November 15 to 17 in the boroughs of Monchique, Lagoa and Portimão.
There will be many races to follow as international, national and regional racers will all be taking to the Algarve’s roads for a chance to finish first.
Drivers will be tackling the challenging bends of Alferce and Fóia before making to it Nave Redonda, Monchique and Chilrão.
The final podium will be at the Hotel Algarve Casino in Praia da Rocha, Portimão.
Lagoa’s Pavilhão do Arade will be where the drivers’ teams will be based to provide assistance, while the shakedown area will be located in Porches.
The European Rally Trophy (ERT) is made up of a total of seven regional competitions which follow broadly the same technical and sporting regulations as the European Rally Championship.
Three categories are contested in each event – the main ERT class comprising of eligible R5 and S2000 machinery, ERT 2 for eligible Group N cars and ERT 3 for eligible 2WD Group R, Group A and Group N cars, plus Super 1600 and Group A kit cars. There is also an ERT Junior class for competitors born on or after January 1, 1991 and driving R1 or R2 cars.
