Algarve History Association presents concert by Nikola Meeuwsen

The Algarve History Association is presenting a concert by young Dutch pianist Nikola Meeuwsen who will visit the Algarve for the fifth time to give a performance on Sunday, February 6 at Quintinha da Música, near Tavira. This will be the third concert in the 2021/22 season.

Nikola is 19 years old and is already a multiple prize-winner in various competitions, having performed all over Europe.

This year he will perform at the Gwyl Machynlleth Festival in Wales, at the invitation of the pianist and artistic director Julius Drake. Nikola has played with the Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam and won the Royal Concertgebouw Competition in 2019.

He has produced his first CD, and continues his studies at Accademia Pianistica di Imola.

On this occasion, Nikola will perform a well rounded programme, including Modern, Romantic and late Classical works: Shostakovich (Sonata No. 2); Beethoven (Bagatelles); and Liszt (La Notte and Sonata in B Minor).

The concert is at 4pm and tickets cost €25. Covid-19 regulations will apply, thus mask wearing is mandatory.
