Regional health chiefs are recruiting new doctors to work in the Algarve’s state hospitals and health centres.
Vacancies have been announced in 10 different specialties: nephrology, paediatrics, immuno-allergology, gynaecology/obstetrics, orthopaedics, internal medicine, endocrinology, cardiology, ophthalmology and rheumatology. Candidates now have 10 days to present themselves and can find all the relevant details on the ARS website.
The recruitment drive was announced by the Secretary of State for Health who has also announced how many doctors will be assigned to each region.
As far as local health centres are concerned, seven new doctors are expected – six of whom will be GPs.
