Algarve Hashers pay tribute to Queen Nan

The Algarve Hash House Harriers had a special tribute run recently for their oldest hasher, Betsy Arnold, who passed away peacefully in the UK at the age of 103.

A spokesman for the Harriers said: “Queen Nan (as she was known)  was a lovely lady who hashed with us for a number of years.

“She was very popular with everybody and always enjoyed the odd beer at the hash and port with her meals. At 102 years, she could still touch her toes even if she could not walk the hash! She will be sadly missed by us all.”

Queen Nan t-shirts were worn showing Nan celebrating her 100th birthday.

The Hash was held in Estombar in the hills overlooking the river. The next hash will be on Sunday, November 28 at 2pm in Alvor.
