For the first time since records began, the Algarve was the region that registered the lowest unemployment rate (8.1%) in Portugal. The data concerns the second quarter of 2016 and shows the Algarve leading Portugal’s employment recovery. It is even more impressive if you consider that in the first half of 2013 the region registered a significant 20.1% unemployment rate – more than double what it is now.
