Golf || Algarve professional golfer António Rosado qualified for the South African Open Championship on Tuesday (January 6) and will be joining Faro’s Ricardo Santos as Portugal’s two representatives in the tournament.
The 30-year-old Quarteira golfer put on a great performance in the qualifiers, reeling in eight birdies for a six-under-par 65 score and a podium finish. Ricardo Santos had already qualified automatically.
Both will be looking to perform well at the tournament, which was set to begin on Thursday (January 8) after we went to press and run until Sunday. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious golf championships in the world and hands out €1 million in prize money.
