The team at Algarve Express have been able to continue operating throughout the varying stages of the coronavirus pandemic and their lorries have made their way every week from the UK to the Algarve.
Whilst their removal side of the business has seen a dramatic downturn, the online shopping continued to bring essentials to clients living in Portugal. Stores such as John Lewis, Boots, Holland & Barrett, Asda, and of course Amazon, may have taken a few days longer than normal to get goods out, but they delivered to the Algarve Express Basildon depot almost daily.
During the State of Emergency and continuing until the 18th May, the Almancil depot, headed up by Rob Francis, are going out of their way to keep their clients at home by offering a free onward delivery service to their door. This is a first for Rob who has been in the industry for over 30 years. Usually all the vans are fully booked and clients come to the reception in Almancil to collect their online shopping.
During these past few months, and the initial stages of the pandemic, due to the large reduction in house moves they were able to, not only keep their staff on the road working, but also help their clients stay safe and abide to the regulations in force.
