Algarve entrepreneur named ‘Valuable Portuguese’ citizen

Algarve entrepreneur Reinaldo Teixeira is among 10 people dubbed ‘Português de Valor’ (Valuable Portuguese citizen) this year.

“I feel very honoured,” said the director of Algarve-based real estate group Garvetur.

He attributed his success to the “joint effort of all the directors, shareholders and employees of the group’s companies”, which saw Garvetur’s business grow in 2015.

The award was launched in 2008 by Portuguese news group Lusopress and distinguishes people the group considers have “accomplished important goals in Portugal and abroad”.

The award ceremony was held last Friday (May 6) at Leiria’s José Lúcio da Silva theatre.

Reinaldo Teixeira was born in 1964 in Salir, Loulé and has been at the helm of Garvetur since it launched in 1983.
