Algarve Covid situation improves over last week

The latest Algarve-oriented bulletin on Covid-19 spread within the region (compiled as of April 22) shows a total number of 456 active cases and 20 people interned in hospitals. This represents a fall of 69 cases from the week before. Municipality by municipality the case count was recorded as follows: Portimão has the highest number of active cases (144), followed by Albufeira (62), Faro (54), Loulé (47), Lagos (26), Aljezur (25), Olhão (25), Lagoa (21), Vila Real de Santo António (20), Silves (15), Tavira (13), Castro Marim (1), Monchique (1), São Brás de Alportel (1) and Vila do Bispo (1). Alcoutim has no cases recorded up till April 22. As to numbers in hospitals, these have fallen by seven patients in the last week, with eight still in intensive care, and three ventilated.
