Algarve bowls

Amigos had a great win against Cats, beating them 7-1 at Alvor and opening up the chase for second place in the League.

Cats are now on 76 points and only three points separate the chasing pack of four teams.

Greens beat Harlequins 5-3 and stay second on 66 points with Tigers third on the same number. The Tigers had a walk over against Rangers who could not raise a team due to illness.

Harlequins are third on 63 points and Amigos fourth on the same number. Foresters were resting and stay in 6th place on 55 points.

Gladiators beat Huntsmen at PDF by 6-2 but this did not affect the bottom three places. Gladiators have 42 points, Rangers 26 and Huntsmen 23.

Round 16 to be played tomorrow (Saturday) should make the League even more interesting as Cats are resting and two of the chasing pack, Amigos and Tigers play each other at Alvor.

Greens visit PDF to play Huntsmen and should be favourites to retain second place and close the gap on Cats to within striking distance.

MIDWEEK LEAGUE

Alvor Diamonds are still setting the pace in the Midweek League and after six rounds lead the table on 47 points, ahead of CPO Centurions.

Prefects, the other Albufeira team are third on 37 points and PDF Gamekeepers are one place below on 25.

The second PDF team, Poachers are fifth on 22 points and Alvor Aces are still a long way behind in last place on eight points.
