Algarve bowls leagues

With only five rounds to go, the CATS have strengthened their hold on the Bowls Algarve Winter League.

They tamed the Tigers from Tavira, at home, 8-0 and now head the Table with 67 points, seven ahead of the Harlequins, who moved into second place after sharing the points with Amigos. Tigers are now third on 56 points one ahead of Greens who lost to the Rangers at PDF by 6-2. Foresters had a good win, 8-0, against their fellow PDF players Huntsmen who remain bottom of the League on 21 points. Gladiators had a rest day and remain 7th on 34 points.

Second place Harlequins are resting this week so the Cats are looking comfortable in their top spot.

MID WEEK LEAGUE

After five games the Alvor Diamonds are the pace-makers in the Mid Week League on 37 points with CPO Prefects in second spot on 29.

PDF Gamekeepers are 3rd on 23 points just ahead of CPO Centurians who have the same number of points. The other PDF team, Poachers are on 20 points and the second Alvor team Aces are struggling at the bottom of the League on 4 points.

With the winter weather biting, the Bowls Algarve Clubs are looking forward to hosting a number of clubs from the UK who are looking for some competitive bowling in the sun.
