Thursday, February 14 was Super 10’s day – another beautiful, sunny day. Floresta took all eight points from Balaia, as did Tavira winning all eight points from Alvor; Valverde won six points leaving Pedras with two points.
This changes the table with Floresta at the top with 60 points; Albufeira, who were the resting team this week, following closely on 52 points, and Valverde chasing closely behind on 51 points. Alvor is the strongest team, holding up the league on 21 points. Only two more games to go in this competition with everything to play for.
Albufeira took the opportunity of their Super 10’s resting week falling on Valentine’s Day to host a fun afternoon’s bowling competition.
In the league matches, Tavira Tigers won two points from Alvor Scorpions who won six; Valverde Vipers took two points from Floresta Foresters who won six points; Valverde Vipers won all eight points from Albufeira Cats, as did Floresta Rangers taking all eight points from Pedras Panthers.
In League B, Balaia Pods took six points from Alvor Greens winning two points; Alvor Amigos won three points from Balaia Whalers taking five points, whilst Alvor Rooks shared the points with Valverde Vikings, each winning four points.
This takes Floresta Foresters to the top of Table A with 73 points; Valverde Vulcans chasing closely behind on 72 points, and Albufeira Cats on 65 points. The strong team in this league is Tavira Tigers on 31 points.
In Table B, Alvor Amigos and Valverde Vikings each share the top slot with 54 points each; Floresta Huntsmen chasing behind on 50 points. The team holding up this league is Alvor Rooks on 30 points.
With only one more game to be played in the league, next week’s matches will all decide who takes the Silverware for this year. Everything for the top teams to play for!
