The Algarve’s string of autumn fairs started with a successful edition of Faro’s Santa Iria fair, which took place between October 20 and 29.
While it rained on five of the 10 days that the event took place, the event was still described as a “remarkable success” by visitors and exhibitors alike, says municipal company Ambifaro, which organises the fair.
Silves also hosted its Feira de Todos os Santos from October 25 to 28, while Portimão is now hosting its Feira de São Martinho until November 12 at the fairground near Portimão Arena.
The festivities will move further west to Lagos, which will hold its Feira Franca from November 17 to 19 near the municipal stadium.
Last but not least, Albufeira’s autumn fair ‘Feira Franca’ is returning between November 29 and December 3 and will be held at a new location. The fair is moving from the area near the local bus terminal to a new space near the marina, which the local council promises will prove to be a better venue.
