Members of the British press met with representatives from the Algarve Tourism Association (ATA) last month as part of a campaign to promote the region to the UK market.
Throughout January 25 and 26, ATA held meetings in London with representatives from a number of British publications, including The Sun, Conference & Incentive Travel Magazine, Conde Nast Traveller and the Association of British Travel Agents magazine.
A press conference was also held on the last day by ATA president Nuno Aires and marketing manager Ricardo Afonso to highlight the Algarve and its most recent tourism products such as bird watching, the Via Algarviana (Algarve Route) and health and wellbeing.
According to Nuno Aires, “it is important to show all that the Algarve has to offer and reinforce its image not just in the UK, but in all the markets where we work.”
He added that ATA will be carrying out similar campaigns in other countries to promote the region and announce new flight routes to Faro airport.
