Alentejo expects 5% to 10% increase in wine production

Wine production in the Alentejo is expected to increase this year between 5% and 10% compared to last year’s campaign, and the wines will have “guaranteed quality”, the Alentejo Regional Wine Commission (CVRA) has said today.  In a statement sent to the Lusa agency, CVRA said: “One of the largest wine regions in the country predicts that, as a result of this harvest, between 112 million and 118 million litres of wine will be produced”. This is one agricultural sector that, for this year at least, appears unaffected by galloping drought.
