Free physio- and speech therapy services have been extended in Alcoutim thanks to a €40,000 cash injection in the local ‘bombeiros’ association, which also covers nursing care.
The money, from the town council, means that help for elderly people – particularly in remote areas – will now be extended.
In cases where patients lack the necessary mobility to make their way to an appointment, home-care services will also now become available. And speech therapy, which used to be available only for children, will now be extended to the population in general.
