Alcoutim council is donating €3,121 to environmental association Almargem to help it maintain and manage the transAlgarve Via Algarviana walking trail.
The municipality says it hopes the money will keep the trail going until a much-needed new management model is finally adopted.
The Via Algarviana runs for 300kms from Alcoutim in the east to Sagres in the west, and boasts a further 500kms of subsidiary trails.
