Alcoutim will be hosting its first-ever gastronomy festival entitled ‘Sabores da Serra ao Rio’ (Flavours from the Mountain to the River) from this weekend to May 18.
In an initiative involving 16 local restaurants, the borough will be offering a choice of regional delights, ranging from delicious broad beans (favas) with chorizo sausage, to fried eels and wild boar.
The event kicks off on Saturday (April 12) at 9.30am at the local Escola Básica Integrada, with an opening ceremony attended by Alcoutim Mayor Osvaldo dos Santos Gonçalves and Algarve tourism boss Desidério Silva.
