Alcantarilha is holding its 16th Nut and Dried Fruit Fair (Feira dos Frutos Secos) this weekend (September 1 to 3) in the square in front of the parish council.
As in previous years, visitors will be able to browse through the many stalls selling a variety of dried fruits and nuts, typical sweets and handicrafts. Performances by several artists singing traditional Portuguese music will take place each night from 8pm, with the fair opening its doors each day from 5pm. Entrance is free.
