The small town of Alcantarilha will be holding its 14th Dried Fruits Fair between Friday and Sunday (September 4-6).
Considered the town’s main summer event, the fair showcases the Algarve’s almonds, figs and carobs as well as the sweets, cakes and liqueurs that can be made from them.
The event also offers handicrafts stalls and traditional Portuguese music every night.
It takes place between 6.30pm and 2am on Friday, 5pm and 2am on Saturday and 5am and midnight on Sunday. Organised by the parish union of Alcantarilha and Silves council, daily tickets cost €1 while a three-day ticket costs €2.
