Eight teams from the UK and the Algarve will contest the Walking Football 50+ Albufeira Cup on Monday (March 7) at the Bellavista Sports Centre, Quinta da Bellavista, Albufeira. The action gets underway at 11am with the final scheduled for 4pm.
Manchester City Strollers (UK), Xcel Walton (Surrey, UK) and Soccer Olhanense Strollers (Olhão) each have two teams whilst Browns (Vilamoura) and Boavista Strollers (Lagos) complete the eight-team competition.
Manchester City Strollers and Xcel Walton have won tournaments back home whilst Soccer Olhanense Strollers won the inaugural Algarve Walking Football Cup in Vilamoura last October. Group games will take place before lunch with the play-offs and finals in the afternoon.
The event is being organised by Algarve Football Tours and members of the public will be more than welcome.
Quinta da Bellavista is located near the watches roundabout, above and behind the Pingo Doce supermarket.
