FOURTEEN BEACHES in the borough of Albufeira have been awarded the ‘gold’ status, for having had good quality water for the last five years, by environmental association, Quercus.
The vice-president of Albufeira Câmara, José Carlos Martins Rolo, said: “The awards reflect the work and commitment of the council. The investment in this area will continue and we hope to receive more awards next year.”
The ‘gold’ beaches are:

Evaristo
Falésia
Galé Oeste
Manuel Lourenço
Maria Luísa
Oura
Rocha Baixinha Nascente
Rocha Baixinha Poente
São Rafael
Salgados
