Albufeira Council has purchased four ventilators, costing €65,000 in total, to improve regional health services’ response during the coronavirus pandemic.
Three of them are portable ventilators and have already been delivered, with two going to Albufeira and Faro’s emergency medical service vehicle (known in Portuguese as VMER) and the other to Albufeira’s basic emergency service unit.
The fourth is due to be handed over to the Algarve University Hospital Centre (CHUA), which manages the region’s public hospitals.
