With a number of questions already raised over the lead-up to this story, the 30-year-old suspect – variously described as an Irish citizen, and “already known for the practice of violent crimes” – has been remanded in preventive custody pending trial. So-far unnamed, the suspect is cited for aggravated murder and drug trafficking. Say reports today, hashish, cocaine and precision scales (for the weighing of drugs) were found in the apartment in which the fatal stabbing is believed to have taken place. The 22-year-old victim, also unnamed up till now, is understood to have suffered 16 stab wounds to his chest, back, shoulders, legs and hands.
