Albufeira locals thank UK bottle top donors

Charity || Locals in Albufeira have expressed their gratitude to a group of residents in Stoneleigh, Surrey, in England, headed by Sue Botwright who sent bottletops to the Algarve to help out two local groups – the Santa Casa da Misericórdia charity and the Albufeira fire department.
It’s been a habit for years now, and one that was prompted by Sue’s close relationship to the Algarve, which she has been visiting ever since she was a child.
In order to give something back to a town that means so much to her, Sue collects the bottletops herself and from her friends and then posts them –all out of her own pocket– to Sharron Lynas in Albufeira, who is married to João Bailote, one of the owners of ‘Portas da Vila’, also known as the ‘House of Shells.
He then takes them to the bar where members of the local Santa Casa da Misericórdia charity and the fire department collect them.
Elisabetta Sestito, local resident in Albufeira, told the Resident that Sue does such a good job that she and other locals want to express their “acknowledgment and appreciation” to her and everyone else who contributes.
