Albufeira Bombeiros won the ‘Best International Trauma Team’ award at the National RTC & Trauma Challenge 2019, organised by Rescue Organisation Ireland and held on Saturday, April 6 at Sligo fire station.
The firefighting force also secured second place in the voting for the RTC International Award.
In a press statement, Albufeira firefighters said they were invited to take part in the event for the fifth year running and were given the opportunity to display their “skills, commitment, motivation and, above all, their outstanding teamwork”.
A “very proud” fire commander Abel Zua congratulated and thanked all the teams that represented the Albufeira fire station at the challenge as well as the station’s board for giving different teams an opportunity to represent Albufeira every year.
