A lecture on the “Alagoas Brancas – A Sanctuary for Birds” is taking place on Wednesday, November 29 in the municipal library of Lagoa at 6.30pm.
To be presented by Dr Manfred Temme, the lecture aims to raise awareness about the importance of the Lagoa wetland. “Alagoas Brancas is under threat from commercial development,” say organisers the Grupo de Preservação das Alagoas Brancas. “It gives Lagoa its name and is an irreplaceable part of local heritage, home to an abundance of wildlife, especially endangered birds.”
