Italian restaurant Al Dente in Alvor has celebrated its first anniversary since completing a massive facelift and reopening under a new management.
Sérgio Whitford and his father-in-law Johannes Laddrak decided to take over a restaurant which had a long history in Alvor but had lost its charm over the years.
In order to give it new life, they tore down the building and tastefully rebuilt it, creating an ample and simple space with a lot of natural light and a pleasant decoration.
The restaurant reopened a year ago with the same name and Italian restaurant concept but added to it a cocktail bar and music.
It is located far from the fishing village’s busy restaurant and bar strip, in a calm environment and with easy parking, and has created a loyal base of local customers who have been joined by national and foreign tourists thanks to the quality of its pizzas, which stand out for a freshness which is not usually found in this type of food.
The new owners are delighted that their plan to bring a different, more authentically Italian concept to the restaurant has paid off, proved by the fact that clients have returned again and again.
Al Dente is open from 12 noon to midnight for customers looking to enjoy a meal or simply have a drink whilst enjoying music. In fact, Al Dente has a wine list of over 100 wines and serves cocktails and long drinks made on the spot by its barmen.
Sérgio Whitford and Johannes Laddrak are also inviting everyone who has not yet visited the new-look Al Dente to do so, adding that they are confident it will not disappoint.
Restaurant Al Dente is located at Quinta da Praia, 4, store 16, behind the Intermarché supermarket in the town of Alvor.
