AKI expands

AKI GROUP is expanding its business in Portugal with the opening of 12 new shops in the next two years, with 10 of them expected to be opened by the end of 2008.

The DIY company plans to invest 35 million euros and have a shop in each Portuguese city with more than 50,000 residents, creating a total of 500 new jobs.

The shops will be mainly in the north of Portugal, but also in Funchal, Faro, Torres Vedras and Santarém.

AKI group was created in 1979 by GIB group and has had a presence in Portugal since 1989.
