Airport baggage handlers call partial strike to end June

Baggage handlers with Portway (a company owned by the Vinci group that itself owns ANA airports authority) have declared a partial strike at all Portway bases from today until midnight on June 30. The action has been called in protest to what the SITAVA syndicate (representing Portway’s workers) describe as violations of legislation on how many day’s off staff members can have and violation of the rule that staff should be compensated for working on Public Holidays. The form this ‘partial strike’ will take has not been outlined, but it will doubtless cause delays and frustration for passengers.
