On March 27 an agreement was signed between Air Europa and PGA-Portugália, giving a boost to air connections as well as the excellent relationship the two airlines already have.
Air Europa will include its code, UX, on all PGA-Portugália flights between Lisbon and Porto to Barcelona, Bilbao, La Coruña, Madrid, Malaga, Pamplona, Valencia and Valladolid.
PGA – Portugália’s code, NI, shall be included on Air Europa flights from Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia to Lanzarote, Grand Canaria, Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Ibiza, Menorca, Palma de Majorca, Roma and Santiago de Compostela on domestic flights and Rome and Warsaw among European destinations. “This agreement is an important step in the Air Europa internationalisation strategy, as well as increasing the presence of the airline in Portugal,” Air Europa General Assistant Director, Gerardo Ariño, said.
“The Iberian strategy of PGA will also benefit. The 50 daily flights between Portugal and Spain operated by PGA shall be connected with about 60 flights operated by Air Europa to all of Spain from Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia,” João Ribeiro da Fonseca, President of PGA–Portugália Airlines, replied.
