Agriculture minister says country has sufficient grain stocks

Agriculture minister Maria de Céu Antunes has been assuring journalists that Portugal has sufficient grain stocks while produce is being held up by the Russian invasion of Ukraine: at least a month’s supply is in hand, she said today, while access to imports from France and other countries is assured. Ms Antunes stressed that alternative markets have been found for the maize that this country used to import in large quantities from Ukraine.
