Various associations representing agricultural bosses have complained that the reputation of their sector has been tarnished by reports on the arrests of immigrant slavery gang members. They stress “no employers are among those arrested”. Leader writers today have suggested that instead of taking umbrage, and thinking about themselves, bosses could become part of the solution by ENSURING that workers they employ are receiving the wages they (the bosses) pay out; living in decent conditions and not being exploited.
